Publication3We are delighted to announce the latest member of the Short Breaks team – our lovely, shiny new minibus!

The new minibus will replace the previous one, which was based at Beech Avenue because its capacity was too small for Hallfield to use. The new vehicle gives us the opportunity to take all of our guests from both our guesthouses, as well as staff, out at the same time, which allows us to get much more creative in where we go!

Since the minibus arrived, it has been very busy with weekend trips to Dunham Massey, Blackpool and Poynton Pools.

During the week it has enabled the Short Breaks service to organise trips to the pantomime in Stockport, which was very popular, and we have lots of future trips planned too! These include visits to Reddish Vale Community Farm, the East Lancashire Railway for a wonderful 1940’s weekend, as well as lots of firm favourites including plenty of ten pin bowling trips.

Our now-regular ten pin bowling competitions are a fabulous result of the new flexibility that the mini-bus gives us. It is great to see people trying bowling for the first time, and just as good to find that we have real expert bowlers among our guests. We are learning loads of new things about our guests, which in the future will allow us to deliver much more interesting and exciting short breaks.

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who contributed to funding the purchase of the new minibus, which is a fantastic new resource for the service and will have a positive impact on the lives of our guests for many years to come.

Now comes the hard part, our new minibus needs a name! Get your thinking (hub) caps on and send us your suggestions of what you would like the motor’s name to be to info@independentoptions.org.uk! We’ll announce the winning moniker in
