The Mayoress, Merrily and Isla Maunder, The Mayor, and Oliver KingIndependent Options has raised a spectacular £1,000.91 at the charity’s Summer Fair, a fantastic day of family entertainment with the Mayor of Stockport making a special visit and getting involved in the fun and games

With service users and families from across the area attending, the event saw guests enjoy a bouncy castle and face painting, along with exciting outdoor games, delicious cakes and treats while soaking up the atmosphere. The rain which had drenched Stockport in the days leading up to the event held off, allowing those who came along to enjoy the garden and outdoor activities.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Stockport came along to the event, stopping to talk to guests, enjoy the day, and taking part in the games and activities on offer. The Mayor won a teddy bear on the tombola, however he donated his prize to a young child, who was delighted with the gift.

Held at the charity’s headquarters at The Pines, 67 Chester Road, Hazel Grove, the fair helped to raise much needed funds for Independent Options, one of the leading charities for children and adults with disabilities in Stockport.

Fundraising Manager, Lucy Sawdon-Molloy, commented: “The summer fair was a fantastic success, with everyone having a wonderful time and the weather staying dry enough for us to enjoy the outdoor games. We were delighted that the Mayor of Stockport could join us, as it made the day all the more enjoyable for those who came along.
